Diagnosis ; Post Meningitis spastic Quadriplegia .
She was affected by meningitis at the first month after the birth ,
associated with Hydrocephalus and vision affected .
She was admitted to physical Therapy program at 1/8/2002 and
she was suffering from :-
-
Sever spasticity in both upper and lower limbs .
-
Very poor head control .
-
Inability to roll , sit , stand or crawl .
-
Shortening in bilateral biceps , hamstring and calf muscles .
-
Very poor balance in sitting position .
According to previous problems she was take intensive physical
therapy in order to improve her condition .the treatment included
several types of exercises like rang of motion exercises ,
stretching ex. , weight bearing ex. , Balance ex.In sitting position
,…etc .
After months of treatment the therapist can obtain :-
-
Very good improvement in head and trunk control , so she
can now sit with minimal support .

Obvious reduce in the spasticity in both upper and lower
limbs .which reflecting on the functional movement.

Maintains the joints and muscles in good health .

Prevent the complications of paralysis ( joints
dislocations , fixed muscles contractures , pressure sores …. )
-
Increase her standing tolerance up to ½ hour ,by using
standing frame .
Finally ; the treatment is continue to get the maximum possible
results for this case .
